When to convert images to PDF

PDFs are the standard format for sending documents that should look identical on any device. Converting images to PDF is ideal for: sharing photo portfolios, creating document scans, combining screenshots into a report, or preparing images for printing. A PDF preserves layout, embedded fonts, and image quality better than email attachments.

Page size guide

  • A4 (210 × 297 mm) — Standard in Europe, Asia, and most of the world. Use for most documents.
  • Letter (8.5 × 11 in) — Standard in the US and Canada. Use when sending to American recipients.
  • A3 (297 × 420 mm) — Twice the area of A4. Use for poster-sized images or large diagrams.
  • Fit to image — Each page is exactly the size of the image. Best for technical drawings or exact-dimension exports.

Privacy and file handling
