HEIC conversion runs entirely in your browser using a JavaScript decoder. Your photos never leave your device — not even for a moment.

What is HEIC and why convert it?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format introduced in iOS 11. It delivers better image quality at roughly half the storage size of JPEG. However, most Windows applications, Android devices, and older software cannot open HEIC files without additional plugins — making JPG the safer choice for sharing.

How to transfer HEIC photos from iPhone

  • Connect your iPhone via USB — Windows will prompt you to import photos.
  • AirDrop to a Mac, then drag to a USB drive or use iCloud Drive to share.
  • Email yourself the photos: iPhone will automatically convert to JPG for compatibility.
  • In Settings → Camera → Formats, switch from "High Efficiency" to "Most Compatible" to capture JPG directly.

Privacy and your photos

This converter uses the heic2any JavaScript library that runs entirely client-side in your browser. No internet connection is required after the page loads. Your photos are processed in memory and downloaded directly — they are never sent to our servers or any third party.
